Superstar Rajnikanth’s Kochadaiyan was supposed to go on floors from today, but is now postponed due to the incompletion of preproduction works. While K.S. Ravikumar has completed working on story, screenplay and dialogues, the casting of actors is still going on. Katrina Kaif has been confirmed the female lead role while Aadhi will perform an important character. It is worth mentioning that he was selected by Soundarya Rajnikanth after she was impressed with his mind-boggling performance in the teasers of Aravaan.
Yesteryear actress Shobana is reported of playing an important role in this movie and the discussions are on to finalize her. On the pars, Sarath Kumar is also considered for a role in this movie. Since K.S. Ravikumar and Superstar Rajnikanth share a good rapport with Sarath Kumar, it is expected that the actor will accept the offer.
Genelia and Ritesh Deshmukh to wed
Genelia and Ritesh Deshmukh will wed on February 3rd. The official announcement has come in, finally. Genelia and Ritesh have been seeing each other for long but they have denied being in love all along.
It is said that Ritesh’s father, Vilasrao Deshmukh, who was the former CM of Maharashtra and now a Union Minister, was against the wedding and this is the reason for the couple going on a denial mode.
Everything has now fallen in place and both the families are happily making the arrangements for the wedding.
Shruti Haasan sends a legal notice
Shruti Haasan has sent a legal notice to a top publishing house in Chennai for publishing false reports about her and Dhanush. The actress initially did not take the issue seriously but when rumors about her and Dhanush began circulating widely, she decided to put a stop to it by sending a legal notice.
The actress said that the reports published by the magazine are baseless and hence she decided to put a stop to it by slapping a legal notice.
It is still Nanban and Vettai
With no Tamil films releasing this Friday, Nanban and Vettai’s stint at the box office remains intact. Nanban and Vettai released on January 12th and 14th respectively and both the films are having a good run at the box office.
Vettai has been directed by Lingusamy while Nanban is Shankar’s directorial venture. Interestingly, both the films are multistarrers which is another reason attributed for its success.
Nanban has Vijay, Jiiva, and Srikanth playing the lead roles and in Vettai it was Arya and Madhavan.
Vijay celebrates!
Nanban’s success is overwhelming and Vijay, the lead star in the film, decided to throw a bash to celebrate the success. In a party hosted for the Nanban team, director Shankar, Resul Pookutty, Jiiva, Srikanth and others participated.
Jiiva said that the team had a wonderful time recalling their experiences at the shooting spots.
Interestingly, Vijay’s bash coincided with the Snehithudu audio launch and it looks as if the star has begun celebrating the success of Nanban’s Telugu version as well.
Simbu ropes in Shakira?
International singers are in demand in Kollywood these days, it seems. The latest to join this league is Simbu who is keen on roping in Shakira for his Poda Podi. The star has been involved in this project for a long time and it is expected to release this year.

Vijay's Thuppaki has an international singer onboard

International pop star Akon has been roped in to sing a song in the Vijay starrer Thuppaki. Director AR Murugadoss, the director of Thuppaki, is keen on having Akon onboard and the work in this direction is on.
Akon had sung a song in Ra One which had become a huge hit. Following this, AR Murugadoss intends to rope in Akon and the international singer is also glad to work with Vijay.
Harris Jayaraj is the music director of Thuppaki and he is looking forward to join hands with Akon.
Dhanush ropes in the Oscar winner!

The Oscar winner for Best Sound Mixing in Slumdog Millionaire is Aishwarya and Dhanush’s choice for their film which is to hit the screens soon. Resul Pookutty is also happy over being roped in for the film which contains the world popular number Kolaveri di.
Calling Dhanush and music director Anirudh as ‘powerhouse of restless talents’, Resul says that the association will be fruitful for everyone concerned. 3 is Aishwarya’s first feature film and it has Dhanush and Shruti Haasan playing the lead roles.
